It’s no secret that financial problems pose a significant obstacle for many believers. Many of you reading this may long to serve God wholeheartedly but constantly face financial difficulties that disrupt your peace and even push you away from the Lord’s path.
That’s why, in this blog, I’d like to share some principles from the Word of God to guide you in this area. I assure you that the Lord is faithful in providing and supplying all our needs according to His riches in grace.
- Set Your Priorities.
“For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil.” (1 Timothy 6:10 – ESV)
Rarely does someone admit that money takes precedence in their life. Yet, if you spend most of your daily time pursuing money, lose sleep over it, or let it dictate your mood, then whether you acknowledge it or not, money holds the top spot in your life. While it’s tempting to believe that more effort leads to better results, prioritizing money above all else will only lead to ruin.
As you know, life encompasses more than material wealth, according to the teachings of the Bible.
- Tithing Equals Blessing.
“Will man rob God? Yet you are robbing me. But you say, ‘How have we robbed you?’ In your tithes and contributions.” (Malachi 3:8)
Many believers need help to remain faithful in tithing despite hearing this principle. Some hardly tithe at all, while others do so inconsistently. Understand that tithing is a cornerstone of prosperity; you’re unlikely to break free from your problems unless you make tithing an unbreakable principle.
- Do Not Be Hasty
“The plans of the diligent lead surely to abundance, but everyone who is hasty comes only to poverty.” (Proverbs 21:5 – ESV)
This is a crucial point to emphasize. Many of you may have ideas, proposals, or opportunities, but you rush into decisions and investments without properly consulting the most important partner: the Holy Spirit. This proverb is clear: rushing recklessly leads straight to poverty. Take your time; if the Lord gives you an idea, prepare spiritually first, then research, and then make a decision.
If you’re an entrepreneur or business person reading this, this message is for you. The Lord wants to bless and elevate you and support you so you can bless others, but don’t rush; that’s why you haven’t seen the fruit of your labor.
I pray that you’ll be sensitive to the Word’s teachings and put your life in order. The Lord desires to bless you in every aspect of your life; in fact, prosperity isn’t extraordinary; it’s simply what God has for each of His children. Remember, prosperity isn’t having excess wealth or possessions but having enough to meet our obligations and provide a dignified future for our families.
“Beloved, I pray that all may go well with you and that you may be in good health, as it goes well with your soul.” (3 John 1:2 – ESV)
