Have you ever asked yourself: <\/span>\u201cWhat or who am I living for?\u201d<\/span><\/i> We live in a generation that\u2019s deeply marked by selfishness\u2014a society that glorifies self. The world constantly pushes messages that contradict God\u2019s Word, encouraging us to focus solely on our comfort, well-being, and desires. But living for the Lord means dying to self. It means laying down our dreams, ambitions, and personal will so that Christ can grow within us. This is impossible without first confronting the root of selfishness.<\/span><\/p>\n That\u2019s why the apostle Paul said, <\/span>\u201cI die every day\u201d<\/span><\/i> (1 Corinthians 15:31 ESV).<\/span> In this blog, I want to share three simple but powerful principles that have helped me surrender my will and truly live for Jesus.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201cI have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.\u201d<\/span><\/i> The Cross is the only cure for selfishness. When we look to the Son of God\u2014pure, perfect, and without sin\u2014being punished for our wrongs, it reminds us of what it truly means to surrender everything.<\/span><\/p>\n As believers, we must go to the Cross <\/span>daily<\/span><\/i>. Our human nature constantly seeks its interest, rather than the things of God. Starting your day in prayer, remembering Jesus\u2019 sacrifice, and willingly laying down your emotions, desires, and plans is what it means to go to the Cross.<\/span><\/p>\n I once heard a Bible teacher respond to the question, \u201cWhich is stronger\u2014the flesh or the Spirit?\u201d His answer was simple: <\/span>\u201cThe one you feed the most.\u201d<\/span><\/i> The only way to overcome the \u201cself\u201d is to leave it nailed to the Cross\u2014every single day.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n One of the best ways to stay centered in God\u2019s will\u2014and not drift back into self-centered living\u2014is by staying actively involved in His work.<\/span><\/p>\n I\u2019ve met many believers who have a willing heart for the Lord, but they become disconnected from the mission. Over time, they slowly start living for themselves again.<\/span><\/p>\n Doing God’s work means sharing the gospel, making disciples, and being fully engaged in your local church. I honestly don\u2019t think anyone can say they truly live for God if they\u2019re not actively leading others to Him. Evangelism and discipleship were the burning passion of Jesus\u2019 heart.<\/span><\/p>\n Living for God isn\u2019t just attending church for a couple of hours on Sunday (and let\u2019s be honest\u2014many now do this from home through a screen). Living for God means going where He sends you, so that His Son may be glorified in every place.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201cBut the cares of the world and the deceitfulness of riches and the desires for other things enter in and choke the word, and it proves unfruitful.\u201d<\/span><\/i> We all have needs, challenges, and dreams. But Scripture reminds us that our heavenly Father cares deeply for us.<\/span><\/p>\n Many people unintentionally drift into self-centered living because they\u2019re overwhelmed by life\u2019s demands. The enemy whispers, <\/span>\u201cIf you don\u2019t give all your time to work, how will you provide for your family?\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n But if you live solely to work, then you\u2019re not living for yourself\u2014or for God\u2014you\u2019re living for the world. If you\u2019ve been feeling burdened or anxious, I invite you to seek God first each morning. Start your day with His Word and let His promises guide your heart.<\/span><\/p>\n God is faithful. <\/span>A true Christian does not live for themselves\u2014they live for God. And Jesus set that example for us perfectly.<\/span><\/p>\n1. Go to the Foot of the Cross Daily<\/b><\/h3>\n

<\/span><\/i>When you go to the Cross each day, you’re starving the flesh and strengthening your spiritual sensitivity to hear God\u2019s voice.<\/span><\/p>\n2. Commit to Doing God\u2019s Work<\/b><\/h3>\n
3. Don\u2019t Let the Cares of This World Consume You<\/b><\/h3>\n
